Our Statement of Faith

We aim to provide our students with a Christian education that leads to Christian belief and practice to the glory of God. While we welcome denominational differences, we also commit to a unifying statement of faith based on the historic, orthodox Christianity expressed in the ancient creeds:  Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian.

In short, these creeds present:

  • The unity and trinity of God–Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • The benevolent creation of the world by God.
  • The brokenness of creation, including humanity, irremediable except by God.
  • The incarnation of God to remedy creation’s need.
  • The complete-but-sinless humanity of Jesus, God incarnate.
  • The atoning death of Jesus and His physical resurrection and His physical ascension.
  • The current work of God the Holy Spirit to heal creation through people who follow Jesus as baptized disciples, integrated into worshiping communities, pursuing the sinless humanity of Jesus in their own lives.
  • The future return of Jesus to finalize the healing of creation.

More detailed accounts of these theological and ethical standards appear in the following post-Reformation expressions of Christian theology: The Three Forms of Unity, the Westminster Standards, the Thirty-nine Articles of Religion, and the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, which offer excellent summaries of the scriptures.
