Our Mission

We exist in order to provide classical, Christian education that  forms students to  display the surpassing goodness of Jesus Christ through thoughtful, articulate, beautiful, and virtuous lives.

What’s an education for?

Kids want to know, though they may not ask in just those terms. More likely, they say, “Why do I have to learn math? Who cares about when Caesar crossed the Rubicon? Why do I even have to go to school?”

And, naturally, parents have answers.

At Christ Academy, we have answers too- old answers - which we think makes them worth hearing.

  • Education is for informing minds and transforming hearts.
  • Education is for inspiring thoughts and equipping communication.
  • Education is for developing community and deploying community-builders.
  • Education is for shaping whole persons to live with joy to the glory of our Triune God.

These answers have echoed across centuries, and we find them compelling...and not only because they’re time-honored.

They also excite us because they’re time-tested: history is loaded with men and women who lived with purpose and satisfaction, in part, because they experienced education oriented to these classical aims. But the value of classical education is not time-bound.

It’s timeless. Today’s students (and parents) need these answers. They guide us in what to study and why it matters. They suggest that every ordinary school day is an open door to a far horizon of beauty, goodness, truth, and delight. They tell us that in the midst of math and history and physics and poetry, there is nourishment for life. Vibrant life.

Bringing classical & Christian together at Christ Academy

  • Christian education identifies Jesus Christ as the center of human life. In him, to quote the apostle Paul, “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col 2:3), and Christian education seeks to discover those treasures by teaching students to see their whole existence in relation to Jesus.
  • Classical, Christian education grows out of the learning traditions of ancient Greece and  Rome, filtered through centuries of Christian practice. Following stages that honor a child’s natural development, it aims to cultivate a love of learning, teaching students not just what to think, but how to think. The goal is to guide students to discover and love what is good, true and beautiful. God’s love for us, and for all his creation, directs us in this pursuit.
  • At Christ Academy, we launch education by cultivating a happy curiosity about bugs and stars and stories and songs, and all things great and small. Then, with new-found wonder, we guide students into skills of observation, inquiry, reasoning, and persuasion. We also invite them into lively dialogue with teachers, fellow students, and great thinkers throughout history. In all of this, we aim to shape lives that will contribute still further to the beauty of God’s world.
