Plato
At Christ Academy, we think Plato got it right.
As a classical Christian school in Salem, Oregon, our driving goal is to form students to discern and embrace the goodness and truth of God for all of life. This is true beauty.
To get there, we teach the Trivium. We read great books. We discuss and argue. We discover and create. We do all of it face-to-face, in a community that bridges every grade level. We pursue a full-bodied encounter with God’s goodness and truth.
The result is not just students who test well.
It is people who have encountered beauty and know how to live in light of it.
According to a landmark study of classical Christian school graduates, students formed in schools like ours are significantly more likely to be prepared for college and career, to maintain active faith and church involvement, to feel a sense of purpose and direction in their lives, and to engage civic life rather than retreating from it.

We believe that learning requires focus, wonder, and human connection. Laptops and phones fragment all three. Our intentionally low-tech environment is not restrictive. It is freeing. Without digital distractions, students at Christ Academy, have the freedom to focus, marvel, and connect, which means they learn!
Our integrated curriculum allows us to provide a full and rigorous education in four focused days. The fifth day belongs to families--for study at home, enrichment, and the kind of learning that happens outside a classroom.
When classroom sizes are limited, students can thrive academically. Our low student-teacher ratio allows for individualized attention and personalized support. We maintain high academic standards while supporting each student where they're at, helping them to achieve their best.

Every student who walks through our doors is inaugurated into a house--Chrysostom, Hildegard, Jerome, or Thérèse. These are not administrative groupings. They are communities named for figures in Christian history who embodied the articulate, beautiful, thoughtful, and virtuous lives that we cultivate.
How does it work? A sixth-grader is mentored by a twelfth-grader. A shy kid finds a captain who welcomes them in. Students across all grades collaborate and play.
Over the years they grow together in friendship and purpose, as the life of Christ grows in them.
"The person who loves their dream of community will destroy community, but the person who loves those around them will create community.”
― Dietrich Bonhoeffer
